Hurricane Tracks is a static website. It does not set cookies, does not use analytics and does not show advertising at present. It has no accounts and no forms that send data to us.
Hosting and delivery
The site is hosted by Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 München, Germany, and served through Cloudflare, which processes requests (IP address, user agent) to deliver and protect the site. The web server keeps access logs (IP address, time, requested URL, user agent) for up to 14 days for security and operation, then deletes them.
The storm finder
The storm finder runs in your browser. The place or coordinates you enter are used on your device to search a track file loaded from this site; they are not sent anywhere else. The query appears in the page address so a result can be shared.
